Objectives:
- To cultivate the value of respecting and loving the elderly among the younger generation
- To ensure that the older generation can experience the joy of being part of one family in God’s household.

Venue: True Jesus Church Elopura, Sandakan
Main Activities:
Members assembled in the chapel after breakfast at around 8.00 a.m. The program began with hymnal singing and prayer, followed by presentations by the Religious Education students (Kindergarten, Lower Primary, and Upper Primary). Following that, a sermon was delivered, followed by a presentation from the Youth Choir.
A slideshow featuring pictures from the 2023 Honour the Elderly Service was shown, followed by a hymnal presentation by the elderly members. The program continued with a testimony session and then presentations by the orchestra. The service concluded with a closing prayer. After a group photo in the chapel, the congregation enjoyed lunch in the multipurpose hall.
Spiritual Teachings:
The glory of young men is their strength, but the splendor of old men is their gray head. (Proverbs 20:29 ESV)
You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the LORD. (Leviticus 19:32 ESV)
During this activity, all members gathered together in the house of God, where the younger generation learned to respect and care for the elderly brothers and sisters, and the older generation experienced the joy of being part of one family in God’s household. May we continue to love and encourage one another in the Lord, fear God, and love each other until the Lord comes again.

Evergreen members, all RE teachers, students, and parents, together with the rest of the congregation.
