- Deacon Maleakhi Tarintim
In the name of Jesus Christ, I testify. This took place during a Sabbath day on 8th June 2024 at True Jesus Church Guong, Kota Belud, Sabah.
As was customary after the Sabbath service, the congregation at Guong Church came together to clean the chapel and the surrounding areas. When the cleaning was done, around 5 pm, Deacon Maleakhi Tarintim and Bro Rolland Tee were in the chapel, singing hymns. They sang hymn 236, with sister Porlin Tarintim accompanying them on the piano.
While singing the chorus of this hymn, Sister Porlin suddenly heard other voices joining in the singing. These voices were very clear, melodious, and harmonious. Sister Porlin believed that what she heard was the voice of a group of angels, as there were no other members in the chapel besides Dn Maleakhi and Brother Rolland Tee. These voices blended so clearly with the singing that it filled the entire chapel. However, at that time, Sister Porlin did not mention this to Deacon Maleakhi or Brother Rolland.
Deacon Maleakhi and Brother Rolland then continued to sing hymn 367. And Sister Porlin still heard the voices singing along. The voices were very clear and harmonious. She was deeply moved and overwhelmed with joy, which brought tears to her eyes.
Meanwhile, a few sisters who were cooking in the church kitchen also heard what sounded like a large choir singing.
Sister Jusich Logidu (wife of Preacher Lazarus Gunchuab) and several other sisters thought that a group of youths had come to the church for choir practice. As such, they decided to prepare extra fried noodles, filling up a large tray so that the choir members would have enough to eat after their practice session.
After finishing singing, Deacon Maleakhi came down to the kitchen and was surprised to see such a large amount of noodles being prepared. He then asked Sister Jusich, "Why did you cook so many noodles?"
Sister Jusich answered that they heard many people singing in the church, so they wanted to prepare enough food for all the choir members.
Dn Maleakhi then said, "There was no choir, only two of us were singing."
Upon hearing this, the sisters were astonished. Sister Jusich then said that they must have heard the voices of angels singing.
The sisters in the kitchen were very happy and joyful to have the opportunity to hear the choir of angels. This event strengthened the faith and brought comfort to all the members involved.
All praise and glory be to the Lord Jesus. Immanuel.
